Well Played Sir!

Congrats to Heath Slocum on an amazing finish at the 2009 Barclays! While he did make a clutch 20-foot par save on the 18th hole at Liberty National, you can't help but wonder...did Tiger choke...AGAIN?

U-S-A!

Solheim Cup's in progress this week and you could watch the event live via TheGolfChannel.com Which brings me to this...

Who let this fan out? Not that I'm not patriotic or rooting for the US, but this is just asking to get clowned on...YIKES

Can You Feel the Buzz at Hazeltine? Chicks, Cigars, and Eyesores

It's been a while since I updated but in honor of this week's final Major, thought I'd spice up the event with some Perez-Hilton-like chatter and share some thoughts.

Like many golf fans around the world, I enjoy every aspect of the Major and golf tournaments in general. I mean...everything! From the Pro-Ams to even the practice sessions on the range, the auxiliary events of a tournament have become a true spectacle. Recently, Geoff Oglivy commented on his Twitter account (@geoffogilvy) regarding such sightings. Ogilvy tweeted during his warm-up that, "There is so many people out here early its incredible. Tiger really has changed the way people watch practice days."

With throngs of fanatics soaking up every moment of the Major, I'm sure many have taken notice to some interesting sights- some good and one in particular that's just downright wrong (Hint: fashion malfunction). Enjoy and feel free to share your thoughts :)

(1) Guess working with Blake Griffin's trainer paid off in the end ;) Here's a pic of AK's latest "companion". Kind of looks like Tiger’s wife with those shades.

(2) John Daly's latest sponsor...Mickey D's? Isn't this guy supposed to be eating healthier after getting the lap-band procedure done? I'm blaming the BigMac & supersized fries for his disastrous 88

(3) At the Champions Dinner, Paddy and Co. took this group picture for the media. While Tiger and the other champs dressed in their finest attire, Vijay looks like he's wearing something out of Miami Vice. Bad call Mr. Singh (but if you ever decide to offer $500,000 to me like you did for the crook Allen Stanford, then I'll gladly change my opinion).

(4) Latin Angels Unite! The Irishman's luck runs out this year and the Latin powerhouses will do well this year. Angel "El Pato" Cabrera has plenty of distance off the tee and his game's completely fearless (remember how he just tore up Oakmont with his grip-it-and-rip-it style?). And my other pick goes to the "Most Interesting Man in the World" [coined by ESPN's Jason Sobel via Twitter @JasonSobel]. No...it's not the Dos Equis guy (although he'd probably win with only a putter in his bag in typical Chuck Norris fashion) but I'm talking about Miguel Angel Jimenez! I know it's a strange pick but his recent play at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational (T-6 on a notoriously long Par 70 Firestone CC) proves that he can hang with the big boys. If there's a shot at the Major, this is the one for Jimenez.
